ok, here’s a picture of rabbit because he is adorable. (it’s the perfect excuse for anything– chewing my curtains, digging my carpet, peeing/pooing outside the litter pan… just because he’s adorable. =\ )

that’s how he spends his days, flopping on his side or his belly, not doing anything. can i please swap place with you, mochi? i’ll flop everywhere for you and terrorize the grandmother for treats too! you do my calculus for me and learn how to use surface integrals. okok? DD

i especially like the high stand in this photo… looks like it’s tall enough to stop the rabbit from getting to my plants. lol. (but of course, when herbs need trimming dear bunny will get a treat.) hopefully i can score something really cheap or some neighbour throws out a stand, then i can just paint it and use. have never worked with wood before. my parents stopped me last time but time time i am more determined!!

this is the view i get when i sit on my bed (although my eyes are more wide angle than my lens) and it just fills me with happiness each time.

sitting on my bed, sipping a nice tea, wrestling C programming or talking to the boyfriend or reading a book… while taking in the lovely view that is my room with the most endearing little creature hopping around. the rabbit makes all the difference, i swear. it can even bathe programming in its aura of cute.

here’s another one, i moved the mat one day and the rabbit came to investigate. one good thing about being roomies with rabbit: i cleaned up all the wires under the table!!! hah!!! tidied it up and hid it in a corner on the desk, so the rabbit couldn’t get to it. makes the floor look so much neater too.

rabbit is such love. <3<3<3 (i'm an utter convert now. rabbits are adorable and best of all, god made them to be prey and not predator so they're perfectly docile– perfect pets!)

i think i should try to take photos of daily life, because looking at pictures is just more fun than reading. should post more pictures of the captain, but usually he either runs away from the camera or sticks his little nose riiiight into my lens. mrrrph.

recently i discovered the joys of Google Reader. yes i know, i’m outdated. everyday i seem to be adding a new design related blog to my feed list. mm. lucky they’re much easier to scan through than painful krugman articles where i feel upset if i can’t figure out what he’s talking about.

anyhow, should really start a folder to keep a stash of my favourite inspiration photos. someday when i’m rich and i move out i’m going to have such a nice time slowly building my own space. a nice, airy place with an immaculate filing system for every single kind of knick knack. and not to mention rabbit.

i do wonder though, how will i attain enough style to carry off such a project. it’s not difficult to make a space look pleasant, but stylish is quite another thing altogether. *mulls*

a few days back i also picked up the agnes b mook which came with a huge ass tote i now enjoy using…  i pre-ordered mine and picked it up on saturday afternon, shipments arrive friday evening… and it was already sold out!!

much lighter than my leather handbags for an “off-day” look. of course it’s nowhere as well made as the ones in the boutiques but it’s waaay cheaper with the same cute print, and the metal charm is pretty well made. best of all, i can sleep at night knowing that i didn’t contribute to illegal merchandise.

koume candy. it’s so sweet, it has a story about koume who is a shy little girl, behind each individually wrapped pack, is a quote from koume. she has a crush on this guy makoto from the famous “ayakoji” family or something, so most of them are silly giggly girl lines. but still, japanese packaging!! makes eating each piece of candy so fun and you don’t just chew them mindlessly.

carameeels. i love caramels. there’s also potato flavour caramels but i didn’t have the guts to buy. not a fan of potato. ._. but i kind of regret not getting it, would be exciting to try, now that’s something to add to my next shopping list.

today when i was in this snazzy taxi with a tv at its back, i saw this old programme where they talked about how methane from live stock accounts for most environmental degradation humans are responsible. (more than cars in america! like wow!)

which got me thinking, what about alternative meats like rabbit? rabbit meat is low in fat and high in protein, and rabbits can multiply… well, like rabbits. but then i found out from this website that since rabbits and cows both use some sort of fermentation mechanism to digest food, those cute little darlings can produce a lot of methane too!! (i know it’s so hard to imagine that from looking at the cute little captain sitting in the corner.)

but i wonder, gram for gram, does the rabbit or the cow have a more efficient protein to methane ratio?

just a disclaimer though, maybe cause i’m chinese, i support exploring alternative and eco-friendly meats. i think rabbits seriously have large potential, and since they replenish so quickly it means you don’t need to hold each rabbit very long in your inventory unless it’s reproducing. but having said that, i love my rabbit captain pekoe. it gets much love from the whole family as our house rabbit, but pets are pets and food is food. (dogs are a bit no-no for me though. with the exception of chicken, duck and turkey, and seafood, i only eat herbivores.)

anyhow, this space here is amazingly pretty. i especially love the set up with the pirate flag and cushion. my darling little captain would be very happy sitting on the lounge chair =D it just looks like the perfect little corner where you can indulge in a little make believe on your own pirate’s ship.

i love it when these little scenes just inspire me so. living spaces should all be about function and ambience. what kind of mood do you want to create for what kind of activity in what kind of space.

at the moment i stay in what i would call a countryside-themed room. should take some pictures someday, really. i think the rabbit adds a whimsical touch and lets me imagine that i’m living in some rabbit hole, especially since it even smells like rabbit if the weather is bad and i don’t get to air it. ^^;;

anyhow, i think i’m going to be moving again within the year (dear god please let me be in singapore when we’re moving so i get to supervise how my room looks) and i’ll probably change the look of my room since the new one’s probably too small to fit all my furniture in. and i’ve had this room setting since i was 18, 3 years is enough for me to accept some change. depending on how things go i’m looking to badger my parents for 2 rooms– 1 for my bedroom, 1 for a study. current study looks fugly, imo. too dark and too boring. it’s not even intimidating, so it’s rather pointlessly gloomy.

ok, i ramble too much about the irrelevant. the only type of space i should be thinking about now is a n-dimensional euclidean space. D:

anyhow, i randomly felt like wasting money on japanese fashion magazines so being me, i got the one that came with a free agnes b. canvas tote. yay me. i think it looks super cute and as canvas totes tend to be, quite comfy.

apparently canvas totes are all the rage now in japan or something. (not sure how much of a rage though, since leather definitely looks more classy, any day.) my main gripe with canvas totes is that they ruin my clothes and get ruined by my clothes, but i am considering using canvas totes again because leather handbags are sooo much heavier.

anyhow, i chanced (really, i took free herald tribune paper from the school to use for rabbit litter, and i only saw the article after rabbit peed on it) upon this NY times article on mori-style girls in japan, and i think it’s a really cute style!! i’ve always liked natural-ish clothes too. that and i think mori girl will go with rabbit =3

which kind of reminds me that i really really should pay more attention to what i wear. have a theme of the day, or something. recently i’ve been focusing on the colours quite a bit but i need a bit more variety in style. rediscover the joys of deliberate dressing. yay.

oh, i’m also enjoying big bang theory nowadays and comic books. current stash next to my bed (includes advanced theory for driving):

oh, and i just got a rabbit!

Captain Golden Tippy Grand Orange Pekoe is a (hopefully) male holland lop, and he’s adorable! He’s still new though, so rather timid. today he let me stroke him!! feels super soft, better than any rabbit-lined gloves i tell you.

i leave his cage door open most of the time, but due to a lack of bravery he refuses to come out. tres adorable!
